This individual will play a critical role in defining and building a scalable, high-performance, cloud-based toolpathing system that integrates seamlessly into our broader CAD-to-print workflow. This is a highly strategic and hands-on engineering role requiring equal comfort operating within a legacy production environment while driving the vision and implementation of a modernized platform architecture. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership, influencing system design, execution strategy, and engineering best practices across the team.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine the architecture for a next-generation toolpathing system that takes advantage of cloud elasticity to deliver a performant, scalable system with a strong user experience.Design PLM integrations to create a seamless digital thread from customer request through manufacturing execution.Partner with Product Owners and Scrum Leaders to translate architecture into executable plans.Participate across the SDLC through design, development, review, testing, deployment, and support.Lead modernization efforts while supporting legacy production systems.Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence.QualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 10+ years of professional software development experience. Strong background in computational geometry and related algorithms.Experience with on-premises and cloud-based applications.Proven track record modernizing or rebuilding production systems.Experience across the full software development lifecycle.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a regulated or quality-critical manufacturing environment a plus.VulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VulcanForms provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; generous paid time off; and a 401(k) plan with company match. The annual base salary range for this position is $148,000 to $204,000.
