POSITION SUMMARY
The Area Leader is responsible for driving results through ownership, accountability, and hands-on leadership within their assigned Department. This role ensures efficient flow of work orders, maintains a high standard of quality, and leads daily operations with relentless focus on performance and detail. Area Leaders serve as the first level of escalation for problem-solving, communicate cross-functionally to eliminate roadblocks, and take initiative to motivate their team toward continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong multitasking skills, a deep understanding of performance metrics, and the ability to escalate issues effectively and decisively.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ownership of work order progress by setting the pace & expectation for daily execution & throughput, while ensuring requirements & company guidelines are met
Leading by example to uphold a culture of ownership, clear communication, & continuous improvement
Maintain visible presence on production floor to proactively support operators, while identifying, escalating, & resolving issues that impact delivery, quality, & safety
Run shift start-up meetings to align team priorities and communicate clear expectations with Lean Daily Management practices for seamless shift-to-shift transition
Serve as a hands-on leader, stepping into any function as needed to support flow & results with real time reporting
Ensure employees are properly trained for assigned work with required tools, calibrated equipment, materials, and information to be successful & compliant while contributing to employee development plans
Support first piece inspection sign-offs, post-interruption validations, and quality checks are completed accurately & consistently throughout shift
Partner with Supervisor & Planning to coordinate labor and machine assignments to hit daily production goals while identifying unstaffed equipment issues
Maintain Hose Master standard for housekeeping, 5S, preventive maintenance, emergency response protocol
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to understand and follow English instructions
Previous experience in Manufacturing and/or Fabrication
Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
