Title:Intermediate Project Manager | University Construction and FacilitiesClient :The objective of the Construction Management and Facilities group of this celebrated university is to provide the highest quality research, teaching, and residential environments possible for faculty and students to live, learn and work. The group is responsible for construction management for academic and infrastructure capital projects, strategic planning and budgeting, code compliance monitoring and reporting, project management procedures, sustainability and energy programs as well as MEP operations and maintenance.Description:The successful candidates will work independently on projects as the Project Manager/Construction Project Manager on various university capital improvement projects, particularly mechanical equipment, boilers, furnaces, plumbing, fire protection, etc. Must be able to prepare construction bids, formulate change-orders, evaluate bids, and make recommendations. Experience in resource budget/financial management for engineering construction projects. Five years or more of combined MEP engineering and construction experience.A mid-level PM with a mechanical background, particularly in elevator modernization experience is desired. This is an in-house project management position with occasional visits to the nearby site, similar to an owner's rep. Require excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan and manage a variety of long-term projects, control costs and meet deadlines.Ultimately, the client may select an individual with three years of experience and another individual with ten years of experience. The search is for the "perfect fit".Required:Five (5) or more years of experience in project management of building or facility construction projects, particularly as it would relate to large university, educational or laboratory environments.MEP engineering (particularly Mechanical) and construction experience as it relates to mechanical building components.Prefer experience with building envelope and building infrastructure.Ability to prepare construction bids, evaluate, and make recommendationsMust be able to formulate change ordersProven experience resourcing budget and financial management for engineering and construction projects.Must be polished and professional, excellent writing and verbal communication skills a MUST!Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (MEP, particularly Mechanical), Architecture or Construction Management or similar.If you have the knowledge, skills, and experience for this role, please email your resume to .
