Technician
Educational/Experience Requirements: NEBB CT (Required)• Minimum of 2 years of TAB Experience• Proficiency Microsoft Excel• Proficiency in Reading and Marking Up mechanical drawings with Bluebeam or an equivalent softwarePosition: Testing, Adjusting, & Balancing (TAB) TechnicianRegion: New York, New Jersey or Connecticut (Need to be able to make it to any of the 5 boroughs every morning by 7 am for work)Job Summary: B&L Testing and Balancing is now accepting applications for experienced technicians who have a few years of previous TAB experience.Benefits begin after three months of employment and include:• Eligibility to participate in the company group health, vision, and dental insurance plans• Eligibility to participate in the company 401k program• Two weeks (10 days or 80 hours) paid vacation time, on an accrual basis, annually• Five days (or 40 hours) Personal / Sick PTO, annually• Company-provided laptop computer• Company-provided tool setJob Responsibilities:• Proactively participate in our technician training program to become familiar with technical, cultural and customer satisfaction aspects of our firm• Assess mechanical systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications, and troubleshoot problematic systems• Test the performance of air and hydronic systems, using company-provided tools and test equipment, such as Pitot tubes, Manometers, Anemometers, Velometers, Tachometers, Psychrometers, and Thermometers, to isolate problems and determine necessary adjustments.• Prepare for each project by conducting a system design review and assembling of the required reporting documents for delivery to the end-user(s)• Maintain logs of daily activities and prepare punch lists for our clients outlining any issues discovered that need rectification• The use of ladders is required to complete the task of Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing of air and hydronic systems. All employees must possess the ability to safely exercise ladder usage.• Continuously educate oneself to become capable of performing assigned tasks without direct, full-time supervision• Learn and understand the design intent of each given system associated with a project prior to project commencement• Ability to review and understand mechanical, plumbing, drawings, specifications, submittals and control schematics
