Quality Coordinator

Job description:The Quality and Safety Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of Quality. This role is primarily focused on driving product quality, process consistency, continuous improvement across operations, and overall customer satisfaction.The position serves as the site leader for the Quality Management System (QMS) and partners cross-functionally to ensure product standards, customer requirements, and internal specifications are consistently achieved.Key Responsibilities:-Quality-Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS).-Own and drive site quality performance metrics including scrap, rework, first-pass yield, customer complaints, and cost of poor quality.-Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.-Lead structured root-cause analysis efforts and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effective and sustained.-Partner with Production and Engineering to strengthen process controls, reduce variation, and improve product consistency.-Communicate with suppliers to address material quality issues, drive corrective actions, and ensure incoming materials meet required specifications.-Engage directly with customers to investigate and resolve in-field complaints, defects, and product performance concerns.-Develop, maintain, and improve quality documentation including procedures, control plans, inspection standards, and work instructions.-Lead internal audits and coordinate customer audits and certification audits; ensure timely closure of findings.-Support new product introductions and process changes through quality planning, risk assessments, and validation activities.-Provide training and coaching to employees on quality standards, defect prevention, and continuous improvement methodologies.-Lead initiatives that improve process capability, reduce defects, and enhance overall operational performance.Qualifications-2–5+ years of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment (required).-Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), corrective action systems, and root-cause methodologies.-Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.-Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.-Proven ability to analyze and solve complex quality and process-related issues.-Ability to work cross-functionally and lead continuous improvement initiatives.-Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis tools preferred.-Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement training.-Prior experience in manufacturing operations.Physical Requirements-Ability to walk the production floor, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.-Must be able to wear required PPE in an industrial environment.Work Environment-Majority of time spent on the production floor.-Exposure to machinery, noise, chemicals, and typical industrial hazards.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceWork Location: In person
