Activity Assistant

Imperial Healthcare Rehabilitation and Nursing - We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and dependable Activity Assistant to join our growing team in a busy Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, has a positive attitude, and is passionate about improving residents' quality of life through meaningful recreational and social activities.As an Activity Assistant, you will help plan, organize, and lead engaging programs that promote socialization, independence, emotional well-being, and fun for our residents. You will work closely with the Activity Director to ensure activities are person-centered and tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and hobbies.Responsibilities:Lead and assist with daily, weekly, and monthly recreational activities and eventsEncourage resident participation and social interactionAdapt activities to accommodate residents with varying physical and cognitive abilitiesTransport residents to and from activity areas safelyObserve resident engagement and provide feedback to improve programmingDocument resident participation and responses to activitiesAssist with holiday, seasonal, and themed decorationsSupport the creation of monthly activity calendars and newslettersReport any resident concerns, incidents, or changes in condition to nursing staffSupervise residents during activities and designated smoking times as requiredMaintain a safe, clean, and positive environmentFollow all facility safety policies and proceduresQualifications:High School Diploma or GED requiredPrevious experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, customer service, event planning, or senior care preferred but not requiredCompassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personalityStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic computer and audio/video equipment skills preferredAbility to stand, walk, bend, lift, dance, and assist residents throughout the shiftMust be able to pass a background check and drug screeningFlexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as needed
