Node-React Full Stack Web Application Developer *Location:* Woodlawn, MD (on-site) | *Client:* Social Security Administration (SSA) *Employment Type:* Full-time, Direct Hire | *Pay Band:* GS-13 to GS-15 equivalent ($121,785 – $197,200) What You'll Do * Design, build, and maintain responsive, large-scale web applications using React.js * Build and integrate RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js * Work across the full stack, from front-end UI to back-end services and database integration * Integrate and manage PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB databases, including writing efficient queries and working with JSON/XML data * Write clean, well-tested code following Test-Driven Development practices, including unit and integration tests * Use Git or Bitbucket for version control in a collaborative team environment * Document APIs using tools like Swagger UI * Build in security best practices, including authentication and authorization * Ensure applications meet Section 508 accessibility standards * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace * Integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions into existing systems * Identify opportunities to apply AI — such as intelligent automation, predictive analytics, or personalized user experiences — to improve both front-end and back-end systems * Collaborate in an Agile environment: sprint planning, backlog grooming, code reviews, and cross-functional feature delivery What We're Looking For *Required:* * Hands-on, professional experience with both React.js and Node.js * Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs * Experience with relational or document databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar) * Familiarity with Git-based version control and Agile development * Experience writing automated tests (unit/integration) * U.S. Citizenship (required for this federal position) *Preferred / Nice to Have:* * Experience with Express.js specifically * Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure * Experience with CI/CD pipelines * Familiarity with React Testing Library (RTL) or similar testing tools * Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger UI * Familiarity with Section 508 / accessibility compliance * Experience with application monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar) * Interest or experience applying AI/ML to improve software development or system performance Pay: $121,785.00 - $197,200.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * Health insurance * Paid holidays * Paid time off * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
