Diesel Mechanic

Elite is a locally owned company; the lead mechanic works hand and hand with the owner.**Diesel Mechanic Job Responsibilities:* The lead mechanic will be responsible for preventive maintenance, cost savings, ensuring our CSA score remains industry-leading, works well with drivers and other mechanics. They will also document all work orders and cost tracking per vehicle. Must communicate professionally with customers, drivers, and other Elite employees even under the stress of a 24/7 oil and gas operation.Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines.Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes.Interprets diagnostic test results accurately.Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans.Hires, trains, and manages a team of trainees.Collaborates with other diesel mechanics.Presents ideas to management on ways to cut costs.Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly.Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely.Understands the importance of safety and following OSHA rules.Follows all motor vehicle repair shop regulations and standards.*[Work Hours and Benefits]* Elite is seeking a full-time lead mechanic. We provide uniforms, a boot program, an industry-leading PTO plan, and more.*Diesel Mechanic Qualifications and Skills:* Elite is looking for a lead mechanic with experience in managing a shop, Cummins Engine knowledge, Eaton Fuller manual and automatic transmission knowledge, experience in cost savings, knowledge in FMCSA and DOT Compliance, can work well with others, able to lead fellow mechanics and also handling phone calls with drivers.Works with clients and has strong customer service skills.Manages a team of trainees and has advanced leadership skills.Collaborates with other diesel mechanics, able to troubleshoot issues and look for new tools or technology to make Elite more efficient and safer.Demonstrates time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.*Education and Experience Requirements:*A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.Experience in leading/managing a diesel truck shop is required.Cummins insight knowledge is needed.Eaton transmission knowledge is preferred.At least five years of experience as a diesel mechanic is required.*[Call to Action]* Elite is motivated to find a great candidate to join our team that can bring their knowledge to make Elite an even better company.
