Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Sewing Machine Operator to join our small local upholstery shop team. This position is an on-call/part time, sometimes leading to full days depending on seasonal workloads. We have very flexible scheduling within 8am to 3pm hours, perfect for individuals with children. Our shop is heated, cooled, and a friendly positive atmosphere work enviroment.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality upholstery and textile products. Your expertise in cushion construction, sewing techniques, and machine operation will be vital in ensuring efficient production workflows and exceptional product standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a more laid back team where precision and quality are paramount.
Duties
Operate various sewing machines with precision to assemble materials according to detailed specifications and patterns
Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues promptly, and perform basic maintenance to minimize downtime
Follow established procedures to ensure consistent quality in every piece produced
Inspect finished products for defects, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining safety protocols
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and accessible
Experience
Proven experience as a Sewing Machine Operator within a manufacturing or textile environment
Strong knowledge of material construction processes and sewing techniques
Hands-on experience operating industrial sewing machines efficiently and safely
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control and consistency
Prior experience with sewing machine troubleshooting and basic maintenance is preferred
