Door Specialist

Talascend is currently seeking a Door Specialist for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Harvard, Massachusetts.OverviewThe Door Systems and Access Control Specialist will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of doors. This position will be part of the IFM team responsible for delivering Facility Management services to a pharmaceutical manufacturing site.ResponsibilitiesOperating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of doors such as dock levelers, exterior sliding gates, motor operated roll up doors, inter-locking man doors, store front glass entrance doors, commercial man doors, hollow metal doors with low energy operators, rolling steel fire doors, airwalls, and high speed roll-up doors.Repair and maintenance services for all types of doors, as requested.Install, configure, and maintain electronic access control system components such as proximity sensors, mag locks, e strike/latch, key access.Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning door hardware and access control devices.Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, furniture and controllers.Provide PM services, repairs and testing services for all door types as indicated on the PM schedule.Adherence to client's SOPs around Clean Door Preventative Maintenance.Support around general maintenance activities such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture systems.Patch and paint repairs, minor plumbing repairs, and maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts.Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, and other client/tenant services.Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions affecting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.Document work performance and materials procurement as directed.Communicate with management, partners and Facility Services Manager regarding issues, project completion timelines and workload priorities.Maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in clean and safe condition.Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.Perform any and all other duties and tasks assigned.QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED equivalent.AAADM certification for automatic door installation, inspection, and maintenanceRequirementsElectrical troubleshooting skills, programming skills, mechanical skills.Ability to analyze the operation of various door/gate systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.Familiarity with door brands: Stanley, Dormakaba, Tormax, Chase, ASI, Schlage, or like brands.Candidate must be willing to work in a multi-skilled team environment.Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.Working knowledge of computer applications including Gmail, Google Docs, Word and Excel skills.Ability to lift 50 lbs.May be required to work overtime to meet deadlines.Be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required.Knowledge of GMP procedures helpful.Previous work experience in lab or manufacturing environment, cGMP experience desired.ShiftMonday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week.We thank all applicants for their interest.
