The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing robust numerical processing systems, with a strong focus on using thermogram data to detect diabetic foot complications. This role requires a deep understanding of Python, AWS, and various mathematical and scientific libraries.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, development, and deployment of a numerical processing system for detecting diabetic foot complications using thermogram data.Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and other engineers to develop and optimize algorithms for anomaly detection.Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of the system on AWS.Implement and maintain scientific and mathematical libraries to support data processing and analysis.Drive best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Python, AWS, and relevant scientific libraries to continuously enhance the system.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.8+ years of professional experience in Python development, with a focus on numerical and scientific computing.Proven experience in developing and deploying systems on AWS.Strong proficiency in mathematical and scientific libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and scikit-learn.Experience with data processing and analysis, particularly with thermogram data, is highly desirable.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Experience in mentoring and leading engineering teams is a plus.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.Knowledge of medical imaging and healthcare-related data processing.Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.Understanding of data security and privacy considerations in healthcare applications.Benefits:Base Pay: 160,000 +/- 10% commensurate with experience along with annual bonus opportunity and common stock optionsFlexible Paid Time Off16 weeks of paid parental leaveCompetitive Medical, Dental, and Vision plans – Podimetrics covers 80% of premiums.Health Savings AccountHealth Reimbursement AccountEmployee Assistance Program - Free, confidential advice for team members who need help with stress, anxiety, financial planning, and legal issues.401k; match up to 4%Life Insurance - Podimetrics pays 100% of the cost of Basic Life & Personal AccidentDisability insurance – Podimetrics pays 100% of the cost of Short-Term and Long-Term Disability InsuranceAdditional life insurance, critical illness, and accident coverages are availablePodimetrics is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
