Workforce Development Project Manager

Position Purpose: The Workforce Development Project Manager holds the primary responsibility of the development and implementation of ‘Future of Work’ programs designed to promote and enhance the mission of VersAbility Resources. The ‘Future of Work’ Program links people with disabilities to workforce training and assists them in successfully completing programs and obtaining professional certifications while focusing on workplace readiness skills to increase overall employability. The Workforce Development Project Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with community/business partners, families, and individuals to establish VersAbility Resources as the provider of choice for people with disabilities seeking services. The Workforce Development Manager is responsible for recruitment, marketing, referral, intake, admission, and discharge of individuals with disabilities seeking services within the ‘Future of Work’ program. Primary Duties: Developing, implementing, & expanding the ‘Future to Work’ program. Develop, implement and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of individuals participating in programs, especially those from the local school systems. Oversee, train and support Career Specialists - assigned to the Future of Work program. Market and brand the program to potential employers and the community. Promote the programs of VersAbility Resources to increase awareness and create new partnerships by: Serving as a liaison with outside referral sources. Attending job fairs, transition fairs, back-to-school nights, etc. Conducting informational seminars and other similar events that create awareness of service offerings. Build strong relationships with employment referral sources, to include DARS, school systems, workforce development programs, and others. Provide individualized work readiness curriculum training to include behavioral and social skills that will improve worker performance and integration in a community employment setting with co-workers with and without disabilities. Provide education, consultation and/or training to employers and co-workers to create inclusion in the workforce. Research programs and best practices that improve outcomes for people with disabilities. Educate VersAbility staff and stakeholders on the current employment environment for people with disabilities. Create a pipeline of potential employees to engage in workplace readiness programs, services and employment opportunities. Remain knowledgeable about community programs to include Project SEARCH, New Horizons, etc. to build partnerships as appropriate. Mentor and train new staff in the provision of services with hands-on-training. Collect data and submit reports in accordance with requirements and keep leadership informed of progress. Operate a motor vehicle to various training locations and work sites to support individuals with disabilities. Adhere to the policies and procedures of VersAbility Resources. Schedule team meetings as needed to review cases and share ideas. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to apply a systems approach to talent and workforce development Ability to foster positive relationships Ability to manage work/priorities Knowledge of accreditation requirements for programs Knowledge of certification requirements for programs Knowledge of developmental services Knowledge of federal assistance programs Skill in organization Skill with interpersonal relationships Skill with oral & written communication Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, or business management related field of study or at least 5 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in community employment. Experience: Five years of successful work experience in the field. Direct experience with developing and implementing programs and transitioning individuals into the workforce. Environmental: Will work primarily remotely. The incumbent is also expected to work in the field, in a professional office environment and industrial/ business setting which might involve temperature and cleanliness extremes. Bending, stooping, reaching and repeatedly lifting no more than 25 lbs. may be required.
