Group Exercise Instructor - Parkinson's

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and inspiring Exercise Class instructor passionate about helping people to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing exercise and fitness plans for a wide range of clients living with Parkinson's. You must have a positive attitude, highly motivated personality and the ability to encourage clients. Previous experiences working with people affected by Parkinson's is especially welcomed. Full Training on leading Parkinson's Exercise Classes will be provided to all successful candidatesLocation:Lake Community YMCA and Louisville Area YMCAStarting Rate$11.00 - $16.00QualificationsYou must have or be willing to obtain: A group ex certification or silver sneakers certificationParkinson's online course trainingShadowing current Parkinson's instructorsCPR/First aid.DesirableBackground in Exercise Science and/or Physical Therapy preferred (current student is ok)Knowledge or experience of working with people who have Parkinson's DiseaseAbility to work with participants to address the whole person, including spirit, mind and bodyDuties And ResponsibilitiesPlan, setup and conduct group exercise classes for participants including light equipment setup, musicCommunicate with participants and supervisor regarding safety concernsCreate an environment that promotes support and provides tools and knowledge for participants to help them develop a plan and uphold their goals.Adhere to provided curriculum by Incorporating the Parkinson's programming and guidelines into your exercise classesCreate varied exercise routines for your classes based on our provided curriculumDemonstrate and encourage correct warm-up and stretching techniques to avoid injuryEducate a wide range of clients of all ages based on their fitness capabilitiesFollow all health and safety regulations when working with membersAble to work with clients who need special attention due to their health problemsPerform CPR, first aid or other emergency procedures if neededHours – Vary: 2-4 Hours/ week.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
