FIELD ENGINEER
Position SummaryBranch is searching for a Field Engineer to join our well-established, growing company. The Field Engineer provides surveying service to company supervision and crafts to ensure construction work complies with design drawing locations.Duties/ResponsibilitiesReviews plans and computes for superintendent and his organization any information required to make progress with the workMeasures and accurately computes quantities of work complete and records those quantities in a daily record using engineering notation and location descriptions that can easily be identified in the project plans and specificationsAdminister/manage/schedule all surveyors (including subcontracted) assigned to the projectOrganizes and supervises project survey workResponsible for the layout (vertical and horizontal) control work using all survey equipmentCompares in place work against drawings and specifications to assure overall accuracy as neededStakes accurately and completely before work beginsPerforms minor surveying (replacing disturbed/missing stakes, normal construction layout, etc.)Enforces and adheres to all company safety policiesDuties/Responsibilities Cont.QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalency2 years of technical and/or surveying experience1 year of prior construction surveying experienceEffective and Efficient decision makerCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsAdvanced/Excellent trigonometric/geometric skillsHigh school level language and speaking skillsCompetenciesDecision Making/JudgmentProblem Solving/AnalysisCommunicating EffectivelyWork Environment/SafetyUsing MathTravelThe employee will need to be able to travel to and from work office and project site.Supervisory ResponsibilityPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
