Desktop Support Technician
Overview:We are seeking a dependable and motivated Desktop Services PC Service Technician to join our team. This role combines hands-on technical support with physical workstation setup and relocation tasks. While prior experience working with computers is required, training will be provided. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment.Key Responsibilities:PC Setup & DeploymentConfigure, image, and deploy desktops and laptops (both pre-configured and unprovisioned devices)Coordinate directly with end users before and after device delivery to ensure readinessInstall and set up monitors, docking stations, printers, and other peripheralsReimaging & Device PreparationReimage devices for performance issues or reassignment to new usersPrepare and stage equipment in accordance with user roles and organizational standardsSoftware SupportPerform software installations and transfersCommunicate with end users when manual intervention is requiredDepartment MovesSupport office relocations, including disconnection, transport, and reinstallation of IT equipmentReconfigure peripherals such as printers and phones to ensure seamless transitionsTicket ManagementHandle approximately 10–15 tickets per dayWorkload typically split between new equipment requests and break/fix troubleshootingTeam CollaborationPartner with warehouse/shop administration for equipment coordinationCommunicate regularly with Desktop Engineering and Service Desk teamsAdaptabilityAdjust priorities as workload shifts throughout the dayRespond effectively to changing demands and urgent requestsQualifications:Prior experience with PC support (required)Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Intune, ServiceNow, Eracent, or Footprints (preferred)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and teamwork skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational abilityAbility to lift and move IT equipment and walk between locations regularlyAdditional Notes:This role includes both technical and physical responsibilities (lifting, walking between buildings, equipment transport)Minimal asset management responsibilitiesTraining will be provided, but candidates must have a solid baseline comfort with computers and software
