Bus Monitor
School Bus MonitorEffective communication and problem solving skills. Ability to problem solve in a fast paced work environment. Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting. Regular and predictable attendance. Qualified to be employed as a School Bus Monitor per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines. Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
Shall include but are not limited to the following:
Attend meetings as needed
Follow directives (written, oral, electronic)
General Bus Monitor assignments
Assists in transporting pupils safely to and from school daily
Maintains proper student behavior on bus
Assists Bus Drivers in loading, transporting, and unloading handicapped children
Guides children safely across streets and intersections
May render elementary first aid treatment
Other assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the supervisor
Maintain Data Security as applicable
Maintain confidentiality with staff, student, and family information
Operate in a respectful, responsible manner
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Salary: As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the CSEA Unit Bus Monitor Starting Rater: $16.00/hour (Negotiable based on experience)
