Job Title: Set Dresser / Event Stylist
Job Summary
As a Set Dresser / Event Stylist, you will play a vital role in transforming event spaces into visually stunning and fully functional environments. This role blends hands-on scenic assembly with creative styling, ensuring that every event we produce reflects the highest level of detail and design. From backdrops and bars to merchandising stations and styled vignettes, your work will bring our creative concepts to life on site.
Key Responsibilities
Loading & Unloading
Safely load and unload trucks, staging event elements with care and accuracy.
Scenic Assembly & Installation
Build, assemble, and install scenic elements including backdrops, bars, merchandise stations, shelving, stage décor, and themed structures using appropriate hand and power tools.
Ensure scenic pieces are secure, level, and safe for client and guest use.
Event Styling
Style event décor such as furniture, props, floral arrangements, candles, and tabletop details to align with design specifications.
Work with designers to achieve consistent aesthetic standards across all elements.
Detail & Quality Control
Inspect all scenic and styling elements to confirm they are clean, damage-free, and properly placed.
Make on-site adjustments to improve overall look and flow of the design.
Timeline & Efficiency
Work efficiently under tight deadlines to meet setup and strike schedules without compromising quality.
Problem Solving
Identify, troubleshoot, and address issues on site—such as missing pieces, space constraints, or unexpected changes—while communicating solutions with team leads.
Collaboration
Work closely with designers, producers, and crew to execute the creative vision and ensure seamless event installations.
Safety & Maintenance
Follow all safety procedures when handling tools, heavy equipment, and scenic pieces.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace; report damaged or missing items to management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience in event set dressing, styling, or scenic installation within the event production industry.
Proven ability to assemble and style event décor with both technical build and design accuracy.
Knowledge of and ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
Strong eye for detail with ability to balance aesthetics and functionality.
Physically fit to lift, carry, and install event elements (up to 50 lbs).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible schedule; ability to work nights, weekends, and long shifts as required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and climb ladders up to 16’.
Comfortable standing or moving on your feet for up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands for extended periods.
Pay Range
$20 – $25 per hour (DOE)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
