Job Description:Explore Digits is seeking a highly skilled SAS to Python/PySpark Migration Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in migrating SAS-based programs to Python or PySpark, ensuring seamless transition and optimization of our data processes.Key Responsibilities:Analyze Existing SAS Programs: Evaluate current SAS programs to understand their functionality and requirements.Migration Planning: Develop a comprehensive migration plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.Code Conversion: Convert SAS code to Python or PySpark, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the new programs.Optimization: Enhance the performance of migrated programs by leveraging the capabilities of Python and PySpark.Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of migrated programs to ensure they meet performance and functionality standards.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, including code changes, testing procedures, and performance metrics.Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful migration and integration of programs.Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on the new Python/PySpark-based programs.Required Qualifications:Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAS programming and at least 3 years of experience in Python and PySpark.Technical Skills:Proficiency in SAS, Python, and PySpark.Strong understanding of data processing and analysis.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.Familiarity with database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and data warehousing concepts.Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Preferred Qualifications:Certifications: Relevant certifications in SAS, Python, or cloud computing.Experience with Big Data: Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks.Project Management: Experience in managing migration projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
