A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within an Early Childhood program located in Smyrna, DE. This contract role focuses on providing essential speech and language services to children ages 2-5 within early intervention and preschool special education settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting communication development and ensuring student success across various learning environments.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students.Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Deliver direct therapy through individual sessions, small groups, or integrated classroom settings.Consult with teachers, parents, and support staff to embed speech and language goals into daily curricula.Monitor, document, and maintain records of student progress in compliance with federal and state guidelines.Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning.Support inclusive classroom models within early intervention and preschool special education programs.Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices and legal standards.Qualifications:Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.Valid state licensure and/or certification, such as ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY eligibility; obtainment of DE State Department of Education certification if required.Experience working with preschool-aged children in public school or early intervention settings is preferred.Knowledge of child development, early literacy, play-based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Preferred Skills:Experience serving diverse student populations.Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility procedures.
