Assistant Controller
Position Overview:The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role is responsible for helping ensure accurate financial statements, maintaining strong accounting processes, and supporting the organization’s budgeting, audit, and close activities. Based on general knowledge.Key Responsibilities:Assist in overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Based on general knowledge.Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Based on general knowledge.Support preparation of internal and external financial reports. Based on general knowledge.Help develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Based on general knowledge.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Based on general knowledge.Coordinate audit support and assist with tax and regulatory compliance requirements. Based on general knowledge.Review account reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and balance sheet activity. Based on general knowledge.Supervise and mentor accounting staff and support team development. Based on general knowledge.Partner with department leaders to provide financial analysis and operational support. Based on general knowledge.Identify opportunities for process improvement and support ERP or system enhancements. Based on general knowledge.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Based on general knowledge.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting or public accounting. Based on general knowledge.Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Based on general knowledge.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Based on general knowledge.Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems. Based on general knowledge.CPA or CPA-track preferred. Based on general knowledge.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Based on general knowledge.Preferred Experience:Month-end and year-end close.
