Inventory Coordinator
Inventory CoordinatorWe are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Operations Coordinator to support daily inventory accuracy and warehouse operations. This role acts as a key point of communication between drivers, facility teams, and operations, ensuring smooth coordination of inbound and outbound materials.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily inventory checks, cycle counts, and material verificationMaintain and update inbound/outbound logs, spreadsheets, and documentationCommunicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and operations teams to ensure efficient workflowCollect, validate, and report accurate inventory dataVerify and organize BOLs, packing lists, and shipping documentationTrack material types, quantities, and conditions across locationsAssist with inventory discrepancies, reconciliation, and root-cause analysisSupport scheduling, load tracking, and logistics coordination as neededFollow and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)Maintain organized digital and physical recordsAssist with inventory audits and compliance processesQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required (Associate degree preferred)25 years of experience in:Inventory controlWarehouse operationsLogistics or supply chainStrong Excel / Google Sheets skills (sorting, filtering, formulas like SUM, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)Ability to read and interpret BOLs, packing lists, and shipping documentsSolid understanding of inventory management principlesStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and follow established proceduresPreferred ExperienceManufacturing, recycling, plastics, or supply chain environmentsERP or WMS systemsBarcode scanners or inventory tracking toolsCycle counting, audits, and variance analysisForklift experience or certificationWork EnvironmentWarehouse and/or industrial yard settingCombination of indoor and outdoor work (non-climate controlled at times)Regular interaction with equipment, trucks, and forklift trafficPPE required (steel-toe boots, safety vest, etc.)Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsLift and move materials up to 2550 lbs.Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the facilityComfortable performing repetitive tasks (counting, scanning, verifying inventory)What We're Looking ForStrong attendance and reliabilityHands-on inventory or warehouse experienceBasic computer proficiency (Excel/Sheets)Comfortable in a fast-paced, physical work environmentDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving skillsEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: Surge is an equal opportunity employer.
