Sr. System Engineer – Windows, Linux & AWS

Position: Sr. System EngineerLocation: South San Francisco, CA (Onsite)Experience Level: 4–6 YearsJob Summary & Key Responsibilities:• Manage and support Windows 10/11/Server and Linux environments (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS), including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.• Configure, maintain, and monitor virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and AWS cloud systems (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Fargate).• Build, deploy, and maintain Docker containerized applications and support CI/CD pipeline automation (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python (mandatory).• Support application installer engineering utilizing WiX Toolset.• Apply cybersecurity best practices, including system hardening, vulnerability management, and access controls.• Collaborate with development, QA, and IT teams to ensure smooth application delivery in hybrid environments.Qualifications & Requirements:• 4–6 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or system administration.• Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows desktop/server OS, Linux distributions, and WiX.• Deep experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and AWS services.• Mandatory proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).• Hands-on experience with Docker/containers and familiarity with CI/CD tools.• Strong troubleshooting, security hardening, and communication skills.• Nice to Have: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible), monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), or experience in regulated industries (HIPAA, ISO, SOC 2).
