Lower School Math Specialist

The Heschel School is dedicated to inspiring its graduates to become responsible adults and active, compassionate citizens of the Jewish world and world communities.The ideal candidate should have the following:Experience, training, and creativity in differentiating math instruction to support a wide range of learners, including students who need additional support as well as those who benefit from enrichment and challengeStrong understanding of elementary mathematics and effective pedagogy in grades 1-5Experience using Singapore Math, with a commitment to ongoing professional growthAbility to draw from multiple resources to meet diverse student needsA collaborative mindset and a strong desire to work closely with classroom teachers and other math specialistsCreative and flexible thinking when designing instruction, interventions, and enrichment opportunitiesExperience teaching in an elementary classroom or comparable educational settingThe Math Specialist will:Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to plan instruction, support differentiation, and strengthen math teaching across gradesProvide targeted math support for students who benefit from additional structure, practice, and reinforcementDesign and teach enrichment opportunities for students who are ready for deeper mathematical exploration and challengeLead and support small-group instruction, including math support groups and an enriched math teamWork with other learning specialists to support students with varied learning profilesSalary commensurate with prior relevant work history and skills.Qualified applicants should upload a cover letter and resume.Abraham Joshua Heschel School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
