As an LPN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing this exceptional care. Daily responsibilities include rooming patients, processing in-basket items, administrative tasks, and more. You can make a lasting difference in patients’ lives while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and resources within the Cleveland Clinic system.ResponsibilitiesProvide professional nursing care to patients.Administer medication.Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.Implement pain management assessments and documentation.Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.Follow Code Blue protocol.Minimum qualificationsGraduate of an accredited LPN program.Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.Knowledge of infection control practices.Experience with technology.Computer literacy.Preferred qualificationsAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.One year of clinical experience.Physical requirementsEssential duties: knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the continuum of care in conjunction with the RN or physician.Physical duties: frequent walking, sitting, and standing.Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations.Frequent use of the phone, fax machines, and occasional use of the computer.Work is heavy, with constant lifting and moving patients, carrying equipment and materials up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with assistance.Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving a patient into position for treatment; reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulation of equipment into position.Working indoors in air-conditioned areas.Potential for exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens.Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment.Personal protective equipmentHigh exposure to infectious wastes such as blood and bodily fluids; wear gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate.Follows standard precautions using PPE as required for procedures.Pay rangeSalaries may be shown on independent job search websites and reflect market averages.
