Trade Advisor – HoustonFlanders Investment & Trade (FIT) is seeking a Trade Advisor to join its Houston-based team. In this role, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of the office, assist Flemish companies with their U.S. market activities, and contribute to a wide range of trade and investment initiatives.We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and well‑organized professional who enjoys working in a small, dynamic, and international environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProactively gather, analyze, and screen market and company informationFacilitate matchmaking and respond to inquiries from Flemish companies looking to export to the United StatesConduct desk research and prepare market studies and briefingsDraft proposals and respond to questions related to doing business in FlandersProvide administrative and operational support to the Houston officeMaintain and update internal databases and CRM systemsHandle email and phone inquiries in a professional and timely mannerCoordinate with internal colleagues and external partnersSupport the organization of events, trade missions, and other activitiesDesired Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree, preferably in Commerce, International Business, or a related fieldMinimum of two years of relevant work experienceStrong proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with social media is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail‑oriented, well‑organized, and structured working styleAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesComfortable interacting with a wide range of professional stakeholdersKnowledge of Dutch is an assetApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.About Flanders Investment & TradeFlanders Investment & Trade (FIT) is the global business agency of the Flemish government.
