Learn More: https://www.mathworks.com/company/jobs/resources/applying-and-interviewing.html#onboarding.The MATLAB UI Components team is seeking a motivated principal software engineer with a passion for developing user interface capabilities to join the team that is responsible for the MATLAB UI platform.You will be part of a dynamic, rapidly growing team that is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and evolution of the MATLAB UI Component library and help build the next generation of UI capabilities for MATLAB apps. You will be working on all aspects of software development, starting with Requirements analysis and going through Functional Interface design – Programming, Visual and Interaction design, Architecture design, and Implementation, as well as collaborating with Quality, Documentation and Marketing teams.You will have the opportunity to work as a key member of an agile team, own highly visible deliverables, explore and leverage new technologies, and develop best practices and process improvements.MathWorks nurtures growth, appreciates diversity, encourages initiative, values teamwork, shares success, and rewards excellence.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop a rich set of web-based MATLAB UI ComponentsApply modern coding and design standards, respond to evolving platform requirementsCreate requirements, design specifications and implementation plans for new capabilitiesCollaborate with User Experience, QE, Documentation and other support teams in developmentProvide continuous value to customers through regular enhancements and timely bug fixesWork in an Agile development environment and apply lean and test driven methodologiesQualificationsA bachelor's degree and 10 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required.Additional QualificationsExcellent OO design and API design skillsExcellent user interface design and implementation skillsExperience with MATLAB, C++ or JavaScript programming and debuggingExcellent presentation and communication skillsExperience building modern web applications (RIA) using JavaScript, HTML and CSS is desirableExperience with a JavaScript framework (e.g. Dojo, jQuery, Bootstrap, AngularJS, etc) is desirableExperience with Refactoring, SDLC, Agile and Lean development is desirableExperience interfacing with customers is desirable
