Network Engineer

What You'll Be Owning Configure and optimize network switches, routers and firewalls.Configure Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS)Configure and troubleshoot virtual networking, VLANs, and virtual routing and forwarding (VRFs).Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.Diagnose network connectivity problems.Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software.Monitor network capacity and performance. Mitigate network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties.Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT) where appropriateMinimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow managementCoordinate with the system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations to minimize down time.Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.Facilitate the implementation of high-speed, scalable, fault-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN and LAN design.Provides assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance and upgrading of existing networks.Analyzes design, specification, and related documents and implements communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a software engineering environmentAnalyze network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput), troubleshoots problems and recommend procurement of, and / or modificationsWhat You Must Have Bachelor’s in Engineering, Comp Sci, Technology, or Math (STEM Degree required)8 years’ experience as Network Engineer in programs that encompass system architecture, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation.3 years of direct experience with IC or SIGINT activityExperience with Cisco IOS, JunOS or equivalentExperience with VMwareExperience with Switch VLAN setupAbility to demonstrate cyber/IT related experience with attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communication, and problem solving.Active TS/SCI with polygraphActive DoD IAT Level II certification Active Cisco certificationWhat Would Be Nice To Have Understanding of project design within the scope of security (RMF) requirementsPay Range: At GRVTY, we understand that compensation is influenced by many factors—such as geographic location, federal contract labor categories, wage rates, prior experience, skillsets, education, and certifications.We’re proud to offer a work environment that empowers our team to achieve a strong work-life balance.
