Infrastructure / DevOps EngineerCore ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure OwnershipManage and support a mixed server environment, keeping critical systems stable and performant under real production loadTroubleshoot across the stack (OS, network, and application layers) rather than staying confined to one layerSupport web-facing and application services, working closely with the teams that build and run themConfigure and tune web-facing infrastructure such as reverse proxies and load balancers, and tune the underlying Linux (Ubuntu / RHEL) OS and network stack to handle high-concurrency production trafficTesting & Quality SystemsHelp build out a testing ecosystem for development systems, including automated testing approaches for catching errors and validating performance under loadBring a quality mindset to changes and deployments — thinking about how something could fail before it does, not just reacting when it doesAutomation & ReliabilityBuild and maintain automation to reduce manual work and improve consistency across environmentsContribute to CI/CD and deployment workflows, and help streamline how changes get shipped safelyMonitor system health and proactively address issues before they become incidentsCross-Functional CollaborationWork directly with developers, architects, and other infrastructure teams as a hands-on partner, not just a ticket queueTranslate operational needs into practical solutions, documenting standards and repeatable processes along the waySupport cloud-based infrastructure alongside on-prem systems as the environment evolvesSecurity & StabilityApply sound security and hardening practices as part of day-to-day operationsSupport messaging, data, and integration services that other systems depend onQualificationsWorking familiarity with Linux administration, paired with broader infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering experienceTrack record of designing, standardizing, or migrating systems and processes rather than executing existing runbooks or proceduresExposure to web applications and the teams that build them, including direct collaboration with developers supporting a live applicationExperience building or contributing to automated testing (load testing, error/regression detection, CI/CD test integration) is a strong plusComfortable working across infrastructure, cloud, and application-adjacent responsibilitiesExperience owning systems end-to-endReasons through unfamiliar or ambiguous issues rather than defaulting to established process or templateStrong communicator who can work directly with both infrastructure and development teams
