Facilities Maintenance & Welding Technician

The Facilities Maintenance & Welding / Fabrication Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of facility maintenance and repair tasks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role is primarily focused on general maintenance (mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and building systems) with welding and fabrication used as a supporting skill for equipment repair and modification.Note: This position is approximately 70–80% general facility maintenance and 20–30% welding/fabrication.What We Offer Our Full-Time AssociatesCompetitive health & wellness benefits4 weeks paid time offYear-round salary for steady incomeAnnual merit increases and year-end bonuses, plus pension and profit-sharing benefitsOngoing paid training and education to support skill development, licenses, and certificationsOnsite amenities including a Fitness Center, Credit Union, and Clinic (nutrition and physical therapy)Associate discounts on Toyota vehiclesCorporate environment with opportunities for growth, development, and career advancementResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day facility maintenance including plumbing, drywall, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical repairsExecute preventive maintenance and respond to work orders for building systems and equipmentInspect facilities, identify issues, and proactively address maintenance and safety concernsSupport operation and upkeep of critical systems (HVAC, generators, UPS, fire/life safety)Perform welding and light fabrication (MIG, TIG, stick, plasma cutting) to repair or modify equipment and components as neededInterpret blueprints and technical drawings for both maintenance and fabrication workCollaborate with internal teams and external vendors on repairs and projectsTrack and document work using IWMS or similar systemsParticipate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance needsMaintain strict adherence to safety protocols including PPE and LOTOQualificationsExperience in facility maintenance, building trades, or industrial maintenance environments (primary requirement)Active welding certification required (MIG, TIG, stick, or equivalent)Demonstrated ability to perform general maintenance tasks across multiple trades (plumbing, carpentry, drywall, etc.)Experience with welding/fabrication in a repair or maintenance context (not production-only)Ability to read blueprints and technical documentsFamiliarity with building systems (HVAC, generators, UPS) preferredStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsComfortable working independently in a hands-on environmentBasic computer skills and experience with work order systems preferredThis job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of JM Family.
