Nursing care is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant Nurse Practice Acts, the Nursing Process, and regulatory standards.Work Areas: Acute care settings include Medical and Surgery Units, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care, Childbirth Center, Pediatric Unit, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.Essential Responsibilities:Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.Engage in ongoing education to stay current with product and practice changes, applying knowledge to promote cost-effective care.Utilize specialized knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care, making appropriate assignments based on acuity and technical needs.Foster excellent relationships with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs, ensuring a positive care experience.Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to safety protocols, reporting incidents, and following HIPAA and national safety standards.Demonstrate leadership and commitment to personal and professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and participation in shared governance.Promote teamwork by inspiring and mentoring colleagues, fostering cooperation, and building trust within the care team.Education and Experience:Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.Licensure:Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.Work Shift: Evening to overnight shift, 6:00pm 6:30am, part-time (24 hours weekly).This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
