Low Voltage + Electrical Design Engineer

Premier MEP/FP consulting engineering firm located in midtown Manhattan has been partnering with select developers, architects, institutions and municipal agencies to provide exceptional building design and application services. Currently we offer excellent career opportunities for Electrical Engineers with 3+ years experience working in the MEP industry. Responsibilities associated with the position are: Preparation of Low Voltage drawings to include the design of IT network infrastructure and cabling, video surveillance and access control layout and cabling and audio visual (AV) designs. MDF/IDF room layout and design, to include rack layouts, pathways and coordination of power requirements. ISP point of entry (POE) coordination. Ability to work independently performing system layouts, preparing riser diagrams, sizing and selecting equipment Provide intelligent building systems for a variety of project types simultaneously with varying sizes and levels of complexity. Coordinate with larger teams and effectively manage project scopes, budget and scheduling/deadlines. Minimum required qualifications for this position are: A BS in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Low Voltage, IT, and AV design. Electrical and Fire Alarm design are a plus. CAD and Revit experience Project experience from the concept design phase through construction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present information to our clients and city agencies. Experience in New York City is preferred. Ability to answer RFI's and Submittals in a timely fashion. Proven track record of teamwork. Ability to professionally represent our firm to clients and agencies at meetings and through written correspondence is essential.
