Piedmont Augusta (formerly University Hospital) is a 812-bed, acute-care facility that serves the Augusta-Richmond County area and 25 counties across two states.Coverage includes a 28-bed Level-III NICU and Normal Newborn Nursery with approximately 3000 deliveries per year and an average daily NICU census of 15Team of4 Neonatologists and5 full-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioners with 24/7 in house NNP coverage and physician call from homeFive NNPs work 12-hour shifts,in-house attending deliveries, writing orders and managing newborns.NNPs have their own office and call roomNNPs have equal day/night and weekend shifts over the year.
