The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership experience, and a passion for building high-quality software solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences to our customers and clients.The Technical Solutions Engineering Manager leads a team of solutions engineers responsible for designing, building, and delivering high-impact enterprise applications, software solutions and integrations. This role blends people management, technical leadership, and delivery execution.You will oversee end-to-end solution delivery across customer-facing and internal initiatives while remaining hands-on in client communication, complex integrations, and critical problem-solving. In addition, you will own project planning, reporting, and operational processes to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes.As a key cross-functional leader, you will serve as the bridge between Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and external partners where you will translate business needs into software solutions and integrations.What You'll Do Team ManagementHire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of solutions engineersConduct performance management, career development planning, and regular feedback cyclesSet team culture, operating cadence, and engineering standards from the ground upPartner with leadership on hiring plans, team structure, and long-term growthProject & Delivery ManagementWork closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions in fast-moving, ambiguous environmentsTranslate evolving requirements into clear technical solutions and execution plansDrive rapid iteration cycles and enable teams to ship quickly while maintaining qualityDefine project scope, timelines, milestones, and success metricsTrack progress and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and blockersIdentify and remove blockers to keep teams moving efficientlyOperational & Administrative ExcellencePartner closely with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to align on priorities and outcomesCommunicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesOwn team-level reporting and operational metrics, including:Delivery status and project healthResource utilization and capacity planningSLA adherence and incident trendsProvide regular updates to leadership on progress, risks, and outcomesEstablish and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanismsManage documentation standards across solutions, integrations, and processesTechnical OversightProvide hands-on technical leadership when needed, especially in early stagesDrive delivery of high-quality software across multiple initiatives in fast-moving environmentsPerform hands-on technical work while also providing guidance and direction to team members on implementation, best practices, and problem-solving.Act as a technical resource for complex issues, balancing individual contribution with mentorship and oversight.AI usage proficiencyLeverage advanced AI tools (including Claude, Level 3 proficiency) to enhance productivity, automate workflows, and support decision-making.Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted solutions into daily operations and project execution for themselves and the teamWho You Are8+ years in software engineering or released experience, including 4+ years managing engineersExperience leading high-performing teams and delivering complex projectsSolid understanding of modern software architecture and system designExperience working with cloud environments (AWS preferred)Familiarity with SDLC, CI/CD, and agile practicesProven ability to operate both as an individual contributor and a technical guide/mentor.Advanced proficiency with AI tools, specifically Claude (Level 3 or equivalent), including prompt engineering, workflow integration, and practical application in a business or technical environment.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable guidance for others.Strong communication, stakeholder and project management skillsAbility to translate business goals into technical executionExperience with hiring, coaching, and performance management of engineersOur BenefitsIn addition, for salaried positions you would also be eligible for:Medical, Dental, and Vision plansFlexible Spending/Health Savings AccountsFlexible PTO401(k) + Company MatchLife Insurance, Pet insurance, and moreOur CompanyWe have a relatively flat organizational structure here at OpenLoop.
