Behavioral Health Technician Shift Lead – Lawrence Healthcare Department: Behavioral Health Direct Report To: BHT Manager Job Schedule: Weekends, 11:00am to 11:30pm About the Role: The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Shift Lead, is an integral member of the treatment team, functioning as the primary conduit between client, clinical, and medical staff, working to ensure a person-centered treatment plan. Under the immediate supervision of the BHT Manager, The BHT Shift Lead will be responsible for the direct oversight of Behavioral Health Technicians, addressing both client and employee needs during evening and weekend shifts. An ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and utilize effective communication skills, including both telephone and in-person. Positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients. Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, provide client-driven customer service, and exercise time management skills. Scheduling flexibility, holiday, and weekend rotation is REQUIRED. Key Responsibilities: In addition to BHT primary responsibilities, will supervise and direct BHT activities, including assigning tasks to coworkers for the shift at-hand. Serves as point of contact in the BHT Manager or Assistant BHT Managers’ absence. Consistent, daily, APPROPRIATE engagement with clients, providing support through implementation of the treatment plan. Uses EMR to accurately document ALL engagements with clients in treatment with concise, fluid communication in the electronic chart. Ensures all clients attend individual and group treatment sessions and follows daily order of events. Maintains strict confidentiality of client information and records without exception per HIPAA guidelines. Completes Client room searches and shift report. Completes full Behavioral Health portion of intake, including but not limited to; body searches, Metal detector wand, drug screening, and breathalyzer. Follows processes and procedures in the Behavioral Health Procedural Manual, including but not limited to: Performs client admission process including drug and alcohol screens and contraband searches. Assists and monitors client activities throughout the shift when clients are not in 1:1 and group sessions. Monitors clients’ compliance with Treatment Center rules Assists nursing staff at medication pass times. Documents shift notes, safety rounds, and client personal belongings inventory in EMR. Performs duties at time of discharge upon graduation, administrative discharge, or AMA, in the absence of client coordinator. Clarity surrounding cultural sensitivity and professional boundaries. Transports clients for blood work, or hospital needs. Completes Cigarette count, tracking, and purchasing. Attends all staff meetings and training as directed by supervisor. Reports safety hazards immediately and works continuously to maintain the cleanliness and functional order of the Milieu. Participates in performance improvement activities, as directed by Manager. Compensation: $17.90-$19.50/hr
