We cross train for front and back-office duties and expect flexibility and multi-tasking abilities with great attention to detail and accuracy.The role of a medical assistant within AARA is to assist Physicians and APCs by greeting patients, taking vitals and weight, answering patient questions, and rooming them to be seen by the Physician or APC.ResponsibilitiesGreet patientsRegister patients according to established protocolsAssist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insuranceEnsure patient information is accurate including billing informationAnswer incoming calls and deal with inquiriesSchedule patient appointmentsCollect co-pays and paymentsObtain external medical reports as required by medical professionalsRespond and comply to requests for informationComplete other clerical duties as assignedEnsure reception area is well maintained, neat and cleanSafeguard patient privacy and confidentialityAssist with charting and recording infusion vitals/administrationObtain vitals on patient prior to beginning infusion, during infusion and at discontinuationDraw labs if neededPerform verbal pre-infusion questionnaire with patientAssist with removal/discontinuation of ivMaintain sterile environment at all timesMaintain drug inventory & medical supply stockRequirementsQualificationsEssentialHigh School Diploma or equivalentA high-level dedication to excellent patient care, office teamwork, detail and accuracy are requiredMust have good oral and written communication skills, good computer skills, be flexible and dependable, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environmentA Medical Assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited facilityDesirableBilingual in SpanishWorking knowledge of phlebotomyIV experience preferredGeneral clerical knowledge
