This role leads daily facility operations involving HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and building management systems that support temperature-controlled storage and distribution of biologic products. The position ensures strict adherence to GMP, safety, and quality standards while minimizing operational disruptions that could impact product integrity.Requirements of the Facilities & Maintenance Technician IMinimum Education Required: High school diploma / GEDRelated Experience: 0-2 years of relevant facilities maintenance experiencePreferred Qualifications: Experience with HVAC, Refrigeration and electrical systemsStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsAbility to manage system modifications and equipment changesExperience working in GMP / Regulated industriesCertified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)Relevant certifications (EPA 608, HVAC, Electrical License)Responsibilities of the Facilities & Maintenance Technician IThe specific duties of the Facilities & Maintenance Technician I include but are not limited to:Lead maintenance and reliability of critical facility systems including HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical infrastructure.Execute and manage preventive maintenance programs in compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.Actively oversee and participate in any modification of facility equipment, furniture, layout etc.Manage contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and site hazards.Respond to the resolution of facility emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and product integrity.Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilize site systems and applications for tracking and reporting.Work in a collaborative team environment and interact with other functional groups such as engineering, quality, regulatory and operations.Other duties as assigned.Physical RequirementsThe work is medium work which requires exerting up to 30 pounds of force and occasionally exerting up to 60 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the work requires the following: mental acuity, visual acuity, walking, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, hearing, and typing.Working & Environmental ConditionsWork involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations. Axogen facilities include controlled environment where gowning is required and facilities that are controlled by HVAC.
