You'll build a 3–5-person team, establish the processes and standards that connect Merchandising and Design to Creative and Marketing, and create the product content infrastructure that serves as a source of truth across the business.ResponsibilitiesBuilding & Leading the TeamHire, develop, and lead a focused 3–5-person Product Marketing team organized around specific furniture categories and Consumer Insights.Establish team processes, workflows, and standards that scale as Ashley's brand and product portfolio grow.Set a high bar for talent; attract marketers who are both strategic and disciplined content operators.Connecting Product Vision to Creative ExecutionServe as the primary collaborator between Merchandising and Design teams to understand product intent, innovation, and seasonal priorities deeply.Translate product visions into clear briefs, messaging frameworks, and positioning documents that Creative and Marketing teams can activate.Ensure the product story is carried consistently from initial concept through final consumer-facing assetsStandardized Product Content & Source of TruthOwn the creation and maintenance of standardized product guides, the authoritative documents that define how every product should be positioned, described, and communicated across teams.Partner with Legal to ensure all product claims, feature language, and benefit statements are accurate and compliant.Work with Consumer Insights to validate messaging and ground claims in real customer language and behavior.Maintain version-controlled systems so that Sales, Retail Marketing, Creative, and other teams always have access to current, accurate product contentConsumer Insights RoadmapOwn and manage the Consumer Insights roadmap across business units—prioritizing research, studies, and data initiatives that inform product, positioning, and GTM decisionsPartner with internal stakeholders to surface insights that shape merchandising priorities, creative direction, and channel strategy.Ensure insights are synthesized and socialized in formats that drive action—not just reports that sit on a shelf.Cross-Functional LeadershipBuild trusted relationships with senior leaders across Merchandising, Design, Creative, Marketing, Legal, and Sales.Navigate a matrixed organization with clarity and influence, driving alignment without always having direct authority.Represent the Product Marketing function in enterprise planning conversations, ensuring the team's work and priorities are visible and valuedEducationQualifications required:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.MBA or advanced degree preferredExperience12–15+ years in product marketing, brand marketing, or category leadership, ideally in home furnishings, consumer goods, or a multi-brand retail environment.Demonstrated experience building a team or function from scratch, not just inheriting oneStrong track record creating content standards, messaging frameworks, or product documentation that multiple teams rely onVP-level executive presence—ability to present to the C-suite and collaborate hands-on with content managersAdditional Qualifications, PreferredExperience working with Legal on claim substantiation and with Insights teams on research and validation.Experience managing a consumer insights function or roadmap.Natural collaborator who thrives working with creative, product, and commercial teams simultaneously.Background in large consumer retail/house of brands such as Target, Walmart, Wayfair, RH, Williams-Sonoma, Home Depot, Steelcase, or other omnichannel home or retail leaders.Work EnvironmentThis position is located in a climate-controlled office environment with standard lighting and moderate noise levels typical of professional workspace settings. The role primarily involves sitting at a desk for extended periods while working with computers, phones, and other office equipment.
