Construction Engineer
What does this job entail?The Construction Administrator will administer and manage the business activities of the Construction group within the Engineering division, which will include Construction Administration and Construction Inspection. This role involves overseeing various construction projects such as roadway, water, sewer, drainage, subdivision, and bridge projects, with responsibilities encompassing financial oversight and resource management. The Construction Administrator will plan, organize, and direct a team handling the administration and management of construction contracts, including clarifying contractual matters, matters of negotiation, settlement of claims and disputes, and control of funds. This role involves frequent coordination and communication with both internal and external clients.Some Responsibilities IncludeKeeping apprised of existing and proposed construction projects and coordinating assigned projects with design engineers or other personnel to review drawings, design criteria, and reports to ensure that methods and engineering practices and techniques are in accordance with established project requirements and applicable federal, state and local policies, procedures, and standards.Ensuring design compatibility with site, materials, methods, techniques, and schedules, including sufficiency of details and specifications, and freedom from significant design errors, omissions, and ambiguities. Leading teams that coordinate the review of contractor submittals, shop drawings, test results, and material certificates for contract compliance and performance requirements. Supporting in the development and management of: change/field orders, updates to construction schedules, submittals, RFIs, claims, pay requests, and constructing meetings.Participating in pre-final and final inspections.Am I qualified for this position?Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a construction or engineering-related field, such as Construction Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.Five (5) years of relevant construction experience.Valid driver's license.Proficiency in Deltek VantagePoint, construction specialty and ESRI software, and Microsoft Office Suite.Why work for Fenstermaker?Our success is based on establishing lasting partnerships and providing innovative, high-quality products and services.
