Position Overview
Harmony ISD is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Systems Administrator to support and maintain the district’s technology infrastructure. This position works closely with the Technology Director to ensure reliable daily operations of district systems, networks, servers, cybersecurity, user support, and instructional technology services.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, technically skilled, and able to work independently while supporting a fast-paced K-12 environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Windows servers, virtualization environments, and district infrastructure
Support network operations including switches, wireless systems, VLANs, and internet connectivity
Assist with cybersecurity practices, endpoint management, backups, and disaster recovery
Manage user accounts and permissions within Google Workspace environments
Maintain Chromebook, Windows, and Apple device deployments
Support VOIP phone systems, security camera systems, and access control platforms
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across the district
Assist with E-Rate related technology inventory and documentation
Work with vendors, contractors, and district staff on technology projects
Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations
Provide technical support and training for faculty and staff as needed
Assist in planning and implementing future technology upgrades and infrastructure improvements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in K-12 technology support or systems administration
Knowledge of:
Windows Server
Google Workspace Administration
Networking and VLAN configuration
Wireless infrastructure
Cybersecurity best practices
Virtualization technologies
Experience with Ruckus/Brocade networking equipment preferred
Experience with Chromebook management preferred
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Education & Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
Equivalent work experience may be considered
Relevant industry certifications are a plus
