Our teams support critical government missions across the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Health and Human Services, Treasury, and other Federal agencies.We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager to oversee facility engineering, construction, and capital improvement projects supporting a Federal customer. This position will serve as the primary contractor lead and principal interface with Government stakeholders while managing a multidisciplinary team responsible for engineering project execution and construction oversight.Position SummaryThe Lead Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing multiple facility engineering and construction projects from project initiation through closeout. The successful candidate will lead project teams, monitor schedules and budgets, coordinate design and construction activities, manage project documentation, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Federal standards.This individual will serve as the primary point of contact between SD Solutions and the Government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the overall Project Manager responsible for contract execution and customer satisfaction.Lead and supervise Project Managers, Office Engineers, QA Inspectors, and supporting staff.Manage multiple concurrent facility engineering, renovation, repair, maintenance, and construction projects.Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules, project plans, risk registers, and project reporting.Coordinate project activities with Government personnel, contractors, architects, engineers, and stakeholders.Review project designs, construction documents, technical specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and performance metrics.Support acquisition planning activities including Statements of Work (SOWs), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), technical evaluations, and contract modifications.Review Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and construction documentation.Conduct project meetings and provide executive-level briefings and status reports.Ensure compliance with Federal regulations, agency standards, and safety requirements.Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.Support project commissioning, acceptance, turnover, and closeout activities.Maintain effective communication with Government leadership and project stakeholders.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.Minimum 10 years of experience managing commercial or Federal construction and facility engineering projects.Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous construction or facility improvement projects.Experience supporting Federal agencies or military installations preferred.Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, quality management, and risk management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsProject Management Professional (PMP) certification.Experience supporting DHS, DoD, GSA, USACE, NAVFAC, VA, or other Federal agencies.Experience with capital improvement programs, renovation projects, and occupied facility construction.Experience supporting acquisition planning and contract administration.Familiarity with Federal construction regulations and industry standards.Desired Technical SkillsMicrosoft ProjectPrimavera P6Microsoft Office SuiteSharePointPower BIConstruction scheduling softwareDocument management systemsRisk management toolsCost estimating and project controlsEngineering and construction document reviewSecurity RequirementsU.S. Citizenship required.Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential.Ability to pass all required background investigations.Work LocationFull-time onsite in Laurel, Maryland.Limited travel may be required to support additional government facilities.Why Join SD Solutions?Opportunity to support high-visibility Federal infrastructure and facilities programs.Collaborative and mission-driven culture.Competitive compensation and benefits package.Professional development and certification support.Career growth opportunities supporting Federal agencies nationwide.Ideal BackgroundFormer USACE, NAVFAC, GSA PBS, DHS, DoD, or Federal construction PM.PMP certified.Experience managing $25M-$100M+ capital improvement or construction programs.Strong client-facing leadership experience.Existing Public Trust or Secret clearance preferred.Local to the Washington, DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia area.
