Job Description: Teaching Assistant (JD 4639) Location: Pendleton, IN Position Type: Contract Duration: Long Term Interview Process: In Person Only Work Mode: Onsite Salary/Rate: Market Rate Overview: The Teaching Assistant supports the Education Department in a juvenile correctional facility, supervising students in the absence of the classroom teacher. Responsibilities include monitoring attendance, behavior, and assignments, as well as guiding students in completing tasks. Key Responsibilities: Supervise student activities and evaluate their progress. Implement daily and weekly lesson plans. Maintain classroom order and confidentiality. Collaborate with other departments to enhance the learning environment. Attend required training and maintain compliance with departmental policies. Develop and review accurate reports for the multidisciplinary treatment team. Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and community agencies. Job Requirements: Ability to create a supportive learning environment. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Capability to manage educational supplies and equipment. Willingness to accept supervision and feedback. Ability to pass drug tests and complete necessary training.
