Senior Project Manager, Field Services Shermco Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and execute complex electrical testing, commissioning, engineering, and field services projects exceeding $500,000 in contract value. This role is not a coordinator position. The Senior Project Manager serves as the business owner of the project, accountable for financial performance, schedule execution, contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and client relationship management. The ideal candidate has successfully managed large-scale industrial, utility, or mission-critical electrical projects and possesses both strong technical understanding and executive-level business discipline.Location: Covering projects in Iowa, Minnesota, and NebraskaResponsibilities Project Ownership Assume full P&L responsibility for assigned projectsManage projects ranging from $500k to multi-million-dollar contractsProtect and improve project margins through disciplined executionMaintain accurate forecasting through project completionFinancial Management Develop and manage detailed project budgetsMonitor labor productivity and cost performanceMaintain forecasting accuracy and revenue alignmentIdentify, price, and capture change order opportunitiesManage billing cycles and cash flow exposureContract & Scope Control Interpret and manage contract requirementsEnsure scope clarity and enforce structured change managementLead RFI development and trackingPrevent unauthorized scope executionRisk Management Develop and maintain formal project risk registersProactively mitigate safety, financial, schedule, and resource risksEscalate high-impact risks appropriatelyLead contingency and recovery planningSchedule Management Develop and manage detailed project schedulesCoordinate shutdown windows and critical path milestonesDocument and manage delay impactsAlign workforce and engineering resources to schedule demandsField Leadership & Execution Lead cross-functional teams including technicians, engineers, and subcontractorsConduct structured project kickoff meetingsDrive execution quality and minimize reworkEnsure disciplined documentation and turnover standardsClient Relationship Management Serve as primary client interfaceLead project update meetings and executive briefingsNavigate conflict professionally while protecting Shermco's interestsDevelop opportunities for repeat businessExecutive Reporting Provide clear project performance updates to senior leadershipPresent risk summaries, financial forecasts, and mitigation plansParticipate in post-project reviews and lessons learned sessionsRequired Qualifications 7+ years of project management experience in electrical construction, testing, commissioning, engineering services, or industrial field servicesDemonstrated success managing projects exceeding $500,000 in contract valueStrong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and margin managementExperience interpreting contracts and managing change ordersWorking knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical systemsProven ability to lead large field teams and multi-disciplinary resourcesStrong written and verbal communication skills with executive presenceEducation Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical field.Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.Equivalent combinations of education and significant relevant project management experience in electrical services environments will be considered.Pay Range USD $127,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
