Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering Lead - Commodities Trading - New York - up to $250k base + bonus & benefitsAbout the RoleCititec has partnered with a global commodities trading firm is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering Lead to design, build and optimise the infrastructure platform supporting its trading, data and AI workloads.While the organisation operates in a cloud-native environment, high-performance trading and data systems require carefully designed infrastructure to deliver reliability, scalability and performance.This role sits at the intersection of traditional infrastructure engineering and modern cloud platform development, ensuring the platform can support demanding distributed systems and advanced data workloads.You will work closely with engineering teams across the business, including data and AI platform teams, to ensure the underlying infrastructure enables high-performance systems at scale.What You’ll DoDesign and operate the firm’s cloud infrastructure platformBuild scalable, high-performance cloud architectureOptimise infrastructure supporting trading systems and data platformsDesign and maintain network architecture across cloud environmentsImplement and manage container platforms (Kubernetes)Develop infrastructure automation and platform toolingSupport infrastructure requirements for data engineering and AI workloadsEnsure platform reliability, observability and operational resilienceTroubleshoot performance issues across distributed systemsExperience requiredThe ideal candidate combines strong infrastructure fundamentals with modern cloud platform engineering experience.Infrastructure FundamentalsStrong understanding of networking architectureExperience with virtualisation and distributed infrastructureExpertise in performance troubleshooting and optimisationExperience operating high-availability production environmentsCloud and Platform EngineeringStrong experience with AWS, GCP or AzureHands-on experience with Kubernetes and container platformsExperience with Infrastructure as Code and automationUnderstanding of platform reliability and operational best practices
