And our teams are constantly pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo in pursuit of a brighter future.Job SummaryThe Warehouse Manager is essential for overseeing and optimizing the performance of a warehouse, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves leadership and team integration to maintain a cohesive and productive work environment. It also plays a critical part in upholding safety standards and ensuring the highest quality of service, which directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational success. Ultimately, the Warehouse Manager is the owner of the facility and is responsible for everything within the walls of the warehouse, taking action or collaborating cross-functionally when appropriate.ResponsibilitiesSafetyMaintain a safe and clean warehouse compliant to OSHA standardsChampion a culture of safety in the workplaceAddress and investigate safety incidents as applicable in a timely manner according to company standardsQualityFollow established safety procedures to ensure Bird riders are on the safest vehiclesUphold the global Bird standard of quality on vehicle repair, maintenance, and refurbishment to ensure riders experience a safe and reliable vehicle on the streetProductivityExecute daily operations to achieve repair targets to fulfill planned outbound shipments on timeCreate Mechanic shift schedules and ensure adequate mechanic team coverageOnboard, train, and lead a team of Mechanics while assigning daily tasks as needed and ensuring workflow is efficient.Set and uphold standards for productivity: repairs and book timePerformance manage mechanics to address issues with productivity, attendance, or attitude. Provide feedback to the management team on team performance.Model and promote a culture of teamwork and hustleDrive process creation and improvement to continuously improve productivity and throughputCollaborate globally to adopt and/or scale process improvements that improve end productInventory ManagementManage vehicle inventory processes such as check-in, scrap, and hard countsCycle charge in-warehouse vehicles to prevent battery degradation during storageAudit and maintain healthy levels of spare parts and tools to ensure team productivityReportingEnsure work order compliance across creation, repair logging, and quality checks throughout the vehicle repair lifecycleAccurately track and report productivity numbers and KPIs dailyOwn KPI improvement at the mechanic and facility levelAll other duties as assignedMust HavesAbility to work evenings and weekends if needed3-5 years previous experience of managing and maintaining a warehouse environment with direct people managementKnowledge and process experience for working towards KPIsProcess improvement experience- (lean, continuous improvement preferable)Strong mechanical experience preferredAbility to learn quicklyExcellent time management, communication, and organization skillsAbility to be both self-directed and work well in a team environmentComfortable learning and adapting to new concepts and using new toolsStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform quick and efficient repairsSelf-motivated with and the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage daily tasksA safety-oriented mindset, capable of conducting rigorous quality checksExcellent communication skills with the ability to interact with team members at all levelOther RequirementsMust reside in the city managed, ideally within a one-hour driving distance.Expectation to report to the warehouse 5 days/week.A passion for sustainability, urban mobility, or technology is highly desirable.Warehouse Location: Hyattsville, MD 20781Target Hiring Range $70,000 - $80,000Why Bird MattersEvery Time You Hop On a Bird, You're Helping Build a More Livable City.
