Managing Consultant We're looking for a Managing Consultant who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, team leadership, and business growth. This role is a senior leadership position within our T&D Engineering and Consulting division, responsible for overseeing a business unit while ensuring technical delivery, financial oversight, and strategic expansion across the U.S. and Canadian markets.What You'll Do:Lead and grow a technical consulting business unit focused on power system studies, including power flow, stability, EMT, harmonics, and techno-economic modelingManage day-to-day operations, including P&L, performance management, and resource planningIdentify and implement process improvements that reduce rework and improve delivery speedGuide team members in understanding technical and commercial project scopes, ensuring quality across all deliverablesSupport commercial growth by expanding services in adjacent technical domains and mentoring staff in industry standards and practicesEnsure compliance with data security, NDAs, and conflict of interest protocols during study setup, execution, and deliveryCoordinate administrative functions such as project setup, billing, staffing, and documentation in collaboration with support staffMonitor budgets and logged hours to prevent overruns and ensure alignment with contract termsFacilitate client meetings, internal team syncs, and performance reviews with clear objectives and timely communicationExperience We're Looking For:814 years of related experience in power system studies or engineering consultingDemonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and project pipelinesStrong interpersonal skills and organizational abilitiesSkilled in power system simulation software and Excel-based analysisExperience writing and presenting detailed technical reports in EnglishFamiliar with commercial terms, NDAs, and consulting delivery frameworksEngineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering license preferred, but not requiredAdditional Requirements:Valid driver's license with a clean driving recordMust successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug testsMust be willing to travel up to 25% for client visits or team meetingsComfortable working flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekendsBonus Points For:Master's or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience)Experience working with Electromagnetic Transients (EMT) and harmonic studiesPast success scaling a consulting business or managing a P&LHands-on leadership in cross-border consulting teams (U.S./Canada)Familiarity with utility interconnection processes or energy market modelingPrior mentorship experience across both technical and business development areasWe welcome applications from qualified candidates, including those who may require visa sponsorship to work in the United States.Why Join RMS Energy: We're not just another power services company.
