Position: ControllerLocation: Kent, Washington (Onsite)Position SummaryNOW CFO is partnering with an established U.S.-based commercial furniture manufacturer to find an experienced Controller to lead its financial accounting operations. This company designs, manufactures, and restores commercial seating and furniture solutions, serving industries including hospitality, healthcare, senior living, government, and education operating multiple brands with production facilities across the country.This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving efficient financial processes across a multi-brand manufacturing organization. The Controller will oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and revenue recognition while supporting the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to maintain financial accuracy, support cash flow management, and ensure full compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Core ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Close ProcessManage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process with a target of 5–7 business daysPrepare and review financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow StatementsEnsure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting and provide variance analysis against budget and prior periodsEnsure all financial reporting complies with GAAP standardsAccounts Receivable & Revenue ManagementOversee customer invoicing and revenue recognition processes across multiple business unitsMonitor accounts receivable aging and lead collection effortsPartner with sales and operations teams to support the order-to-cash processMaintain accurate billing processes and customer account reconciliationAccounts PayableOversee vendor invoice processing and payment schedulingEnsure timely and accurate vendor payments while maintaining strong internal controls over AP processesGeneral Ledger & ReconciliationsMaintain integrity of the general ledger and review and approve journal entriesPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and bank account reconciliationsCash Flow & Financial OperationsSupport executive leadership with cash flow monitoring and forecastingAssist with working capital management and ensure proper recording of all financial transactions and operational expensesCompliance, Tax & Audit SupportCoordinate with external CPA firms and tax advisorsSupport preparation of sales tax filings, payroll tax filings, and other regulatory reportingAssist with financial audits and preparation of supporting schedulesERP & Financial SystemsMaintain accounting data integrity within ERP systemsSupport financial reporting improvements, system optimization, and financial dashboard reportingLeadership & Team ManagementSupervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring responsibilities are completed accurately and on timeProvide training and professional development opportunitiesEstablish a culture of accountability and strong financial process disciplineRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience managing financial close processes and financial reportingHands-on experience managing accounts payable and vendor relationships, including payment negotiationComfortable presenting high-level financial overviews to a board or executive leadership, knows what to report and how to frame itConfident, data-driven communicator who can hold firm on financial integrityAdvanced proficiency in accounting systems and ExcelStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsPreferred QualificationsCPA or CMA certificationExperience in manufacturing, custom production, or project-based accounting environmentsExperience with ERP systems and financial system integrationsPrior experience managing an accounting team
