Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601 **POSITION SUMMARY:** The Part-Time Custodian is responsible for all daily cleaning of the Goodman Theatre as well as assigned event setups. This individual interacts with diverse groups of employees and helps to support the Goodmans artistic work.This is a unique opportunity to join a well-structured program and collaborate with a versatile facilities team in fulfilling the Goodmans mission. **RESPONSIBILITIES:**Clean, sanitize and disinfect as assigned ```{=html}```Follow daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules ```{=html}```Collect and remove garbage and recycling from all areas of the building ```{=html}```Ensure restrooms are properly supplied ```{=html}```Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, or strip/apply new finish, and buff/burnish floors ```{=html}```Vacuum and spot clean carpets ```{=html}```Perform minor maintenance and repairs to custodian equipment ```{=html}```Organize and maintain cleanliness of custodial closets ```{=html}```Perform event setup, tear down, and cleaning as needed ```{=html}```Perform snow and ice removal when necessary **QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:**Ability to operate carpet cleaning, floor polishing, and snow removal equipment ```{=html}```Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays ```{=html}```Physical ability to perform work assignments including the ability to maneuver at least 50 lbs. ```{=html}```Knowledge of proper cleaning product use ```{=html}```Ability to organize and prioritize work ```{=html}```Ability to read and interpret product safety labels, written instructions, and diagrams ```{=html}```Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members ```{=html}```MS Office software program experience preferred ```{=html}```Theatre or Live Entertainment Venue experience beneficial ```{=html}```Experience in commercial cleaning and sanitizing practices preferred ```{=html}```Previous custodial experience in a large, commercial space preferred, but not required ```{=html}```Experience with a wide range of custodial equipment preferred ```{=html}```Model Behavior and values consistent with The Goodmans CommunityAgreements and furthering The Goodmans IDEAA (Inclusion, Diversity,Equity, Anti-Racism and Access) goals. **BACKGROUND:** Chicagos theater since 1925, The Goodman is a not-for-profit arts and community organization in the heart of the Loop, distinguished by the excellence and scope of its artistic programming and community engagement.
