Position: Senior Case Advocate/ Geary
Responsible to: Director of Programs
Position Summary: This is a supervisory position responsible for direct client service delivery at The Crisis Center, Inc. Junction City office, which serves Geary and Clay counties and Fort Riley. This position oversees, coordinates, and manages the provision of direct services out of the Junction City office and provides direct advocacy services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Specific Duties:
Oversee the day-to-day direct services and operations at the Junction City office.
Supervise, train, and coordinate other advocates based at the Junction City office.
Provide advocacy services in Geary and Clay counties and Fort Riley, including but not limited to: crisis intervention, personal advocacy, medical advocacy, court advocacy, law enforcement advocacy, supportive counseling, support groups, information and referrals, and transportation.
Participate in monthly on-call rotation with other Crisis Center advocates.
Develop and maintain relationships and points of contact with community partners.
Work with other systems to increase survivor safety and access to resources, including but not limited to: the courts, law enforcement, and other social service providers,
Effectively communicate, coordinate, and collaborate in a timely manner with other advocates to ensure survivors are best served.
Create a culture of empowerment and trauma-informed service delivery.
Participate in organizational meetings and other functions, as needed.
Assist with efforts to ensure information is readily available and accessible to victims and survivors.
Participate in professional development opportunities pertinent to the position.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Baccalaureate degree in related field plus two years’ experience working with victims and/or in social services and/or in client service delivery; two years supervision experience; ability to work directly in Geary and Clay counties and Fort Riley, including any travel to and from as needed; ability to relate to diverse individuals and groups in a non-judgmental manner and work with people from underserved or traditionally underserved communities; ability to handle and manage stress and calmly address emergency or crisis situations; ability to maintain strict confidentiality; ability to be flexible, manage multiple demands simultaneously, and work independently; ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and written; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; residence in Geary County preferred. Must understand and maintain healthy professional boundaries with all clients. Successful completion of provided training required. Each staff member of The Crisis Center, Inc. must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and insurance at all times, and be capable of lifting and carrying 20 - 30 pounds. Must be able to pass criminal and child abuse background check.
