Service Technician
Service TechnicianThe Service Technician is responsible for the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of large drilling and foundation piling equipment. This includes working with hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and various mechanical components. The role requires operating heavy machinery and performing diagnostics to ensure equipment functionality and safety. Reporting to the Service Manager, the technician will write detailed service reports and manage parts requisitions while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and disassemble components and accessories on drilling and piling equipment, including hydraulic cylinders, diesel engines, and undercarriage assemblies.Conduct machining and fabrication of steel components using hand and power-driven tools.Perform diagnostic testing to identify mechanical issues and complete necessary repairs.Write detailed service reports, look up parts, and complete order requisitions and paperwork.Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other heavy-duty equipment safely.Complete repairs and preventative maintenance on drilling and pile driving equipment within specified timeframes.Perform check-in and check-out procedures for rental equipment and ensure quality control.Perform minor repairs at job sites and notify the Service Manager of any customer damage.Ensure equipment is clean and washed regularly.Essential SkillsExperience with heavy construction equipment focusing on electronics, hydraulics, power trains, and diesel engines.Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.Ability to use hand tools and perform preventative maintenance.Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with heavy equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with heavy equipment brands such as CAT and Bauer.Familiarity with ground support equipment.Why Work Here?Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including full medical, dental, and vision coverage, competitive vacation, holiday, and sick days.
