Safety & Security Officer
Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking Safety and Secuirty Officer(s) to maintain reasonably safe and secure teaching and learning environments for our students, faculty and staff.ESSENTIAL JOB FUCTIONSPatrollingChecks students for proper hall passesEscorts students to the office for inappropriate behaviorSupervision of students outside of the classroomConducts periodic checks of grounds and buildings and performs surveillance activities as directedNotifies office personnel of problems with vehicles (i.e., improperly parked, light on, etc)Student ManagementMonitors student behavior and enforces school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parkingResolves conflict or confrontations between students and reports disturbances to principal or designeeAssists school Administration in matters of safety and security as requestedControls traffic and parking on campus groundsOthersAssists law enforcement personnel as needed, on matters of crime and delinquencyNotifies police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attentionAssists visitors, giving directions and needed informationProvides security at extra-curricular activitiesAttends training sessions and performs other needed duties, as assignedPerforms any other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Safety and SecurityKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESExcellent written and commincation skillsinterpersonal sensitivityFlexibilityEXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of one year job related experienceMust have, or the ability to obtain a valid St. Louis County Security Officer's licensePHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
